Dear Borel Families,

Parent-teacher conferences in the SMFCSD middle schools will be a little different this year due to Distance Learning and the need for virtual conferences. We will be prioritizing students who are struggling to make adequate academic progress or who have demonstrated the need for support in other areas.

Families for whom we have determined require conferences, will be contacted the week of October 26. If you are not contacted to schedule a conference, and you have a question or concern, please email your teacher(s) as you normally would.

Every day during the week of November 2, will be a minimum day for ALL students to allow for conferences in the afternoons.

Conference Week Block Schedule

These are unusual times and we appreciate your understanding of our plans for conferences this Fall. Please know that we are monitoring all of our students. We thank you for your cooperation and support of your children in their Distance Learning work.

The Book Fair is almost here and this year we are doing it online! Sit back, relax, and order some new books for the family! In a recent study* they found that paper reading was more effective than screen reading, and with the current situation, there’s no better time than having paper books on hand.

This year, we are trying out Follett Book Fairs! With a wide selection of carefully selected titles, the hottest newest releases, Follett Book Fairs feature the books students want! Did you know that our school receives 40% of the Book Fair’s profit to purchase books and supplies for our Library? Last year’s Book Fair raised nearly $5,000 for our school!

Book Fair Dates: Monday, November 2 - Saturday, November 14
