Music Program Overview

The Borel Music Program is well known throughout the Bay Area and Internationally! Music students participate in area CMEA Music Festivals, travel to Disneyland every other year and we even visited our sister school, Dai-Kyu Junior High in Toyonaka, Japan in 2015.

Borel students begin in either 6th Grade Band or Orchestra. These classes meet every other day.

Band Instruments – Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium/Baritone Horn, Tuba, Percussion

Orchestra Instruments – Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass

Students may audition in March to place into a higher ensemble in 7th and 8th Grade. Audition information will be given in class.

Drama & Music Summer Camp Scholarship Applications for 6th & 7th Graders

We are offering 2 full scholarships to Hillbarn Conservatory Summerstage Camp and 1 full scholarship to Cazadero Music Camp. These scholarships are made possible by the Miranda M. Bosley Arts & Music Fund. Applications are available on the Borel website or in Room 3/9/41. This is a great program and open to all 6th and 7th grade Borel students!

*Hillbarn Drama Camp puts on a full-scale production of a musical, Changing Minds!

*Cazadero Music Camp offers campers a program of intensive musical study set in a gorgeous outdoor environment in the redwood trees of Sonoma County.
